The Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) supports multiple audio and video modes to work on multiple television models. It also includes video settings that can be controlled from the PlayStation menu. On occasion, you might switch the video mode from one type, such as component to HDMI, then realize you need to switch it back but don't have the necessary cable to display video on your system. If this occurs, you'll need to perform a system reset to force the console to use the video mode it detects when it turns on.
