Wireless Connection
Go to the "Settings" icon on the PS3 menu and select "Network Settings." Go down to "Internet Connection" and select "Enable." Select "Internet Connection Settings," and press "Right" on the directional pad to continue.
Select "Easy" as the setting method. Select "Wireless." Select "Scan" and select the name of your wireless network. Enter a display name for the wireless network on the PS3 by using the on-screen keyboard. Use the on-screen keyboard to enter the password for the wireless network or select "None" if the network does not use a password.
Press the "X" button to save the settings and select "Test Connection." After the test, the PS3 will be connected to the network.
Wired Connection
Connect an Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on the back of the PS3 and into an Ethernet port on the router.
Go to the "Settings" icon on the PS3 menu and select "Network Settings." Go down to "Internet Connection" and select "Enable." Select "Internet Connection Settings" and press "Right" on the directional pad to continue.
Select "Easy" as the setting method. Press the "X" button to save the settings and select "Test Connection." After the test, the PS3 will be connected to the network.
Set up Media Server Connection
Go to the "Settings" icon on the PS3 menu. Select "Network Settings." Go down to "Media Server Connection" and select "Enabled."
Click the "Start" button in the Windows taskbar, click "All Programs" and click "Windows Media Player."
Click the arrow next to the "Stream" button. Click "Turn on Media Streaming With HomeGroup." Click the drop-down box next to "Show Devices on" and click "All Networks."
Click the drop-down box next to "Unknown Device" (the PS3) and click "Allow." Click "Apply" and click "OK."
