How to Make Yourself Unavailable Online for PS3

When you log onto your PlayStation Network account, a blue icon appears next to your name to notify your friends that you have signed in. This can prompt your friends to message you or send game invitations, which can be annoying if you wish to be left alone. The PlayStation 3 (PS3) does, however, allow you to alter your status. For example, it gives you the ability to set your status to "Not Available," which lets your friends know that you do not want to be disturbed.

     Sign into your PlayStation Network account.

     Press the "PS" button on your controller. A menu opens.

     Scroll to the right to the "Friends" section.

   • 4

     Scroll to your avatar in the "Friends" section and press the "Triangle" button.

     Select "Not Available." A yellow clock icon appears next to your avatar.
