How to Hook Up Drums, Mic & Guitar for a PS3

The "Rock Band" game for the PlayStation 3 console is a simulation video game in which players can choose from a variety of classic, contemporary and modern rock songs to perform. With a guitar, drum set and microphone, three players can sing, play guitar and beat the drums to create harmonizing music and a high score. Before you can play the game, you must hook up all the instruments to the PlayStation 3 console.

  Insert the USB cable from the guitar into the USB port on the PS3 console. If you are using a wireless guitar, plug the wireless signal receiver into the USB port and sync up the guitar with the receiver device.

  Plug the USB cable from the drum set into the other available USB port on the PS3 console. If you are using a wireless drum set as well, insert the signal receiver into the USB port on the PS3 and sync the device to the console.

  Hook up the microphone using the USB cable into the available slot on the drum set. The drum set should have two USB ports, one to plug into the PS3 console and one to connect the microphone. The microphone is the only device in the Rock Band kit that does not have wireless capabilities.
