How to Calibrate a PS3 Move Controller With Bowling Games

The PlayStation 3 Move Controller, released in 2010, is a motion-based controller accessory for your PlayStation 3 and supporting games. Games with the PlayStation Move logo in the upper-right corner of the box, such as "Brunswick Pro Bowling and "High Velocity Bowling," allow you to use the Move controller. If your Move controller is not performing as expected, such as moving in directions you are not specifying, it needs to be calibrated. By calibrating your controller, you can ensure it functions properly based on your PlayStation 3's configuration.

Instructions

    • 1

Select "Settings" from your PlayStation 3's main menu.

    • 2

      Select "Accessory Settings."

    • 3

Select "Calibrate Motion Sensor" located at the bottom of the list.

    • 4

Press "X" on the PlayStation Move controller you are calibrating.

    • 5

Hold the controller in the exact position shown on screen. Press "X" to see the calibration example.

    • 6

Press "X" to begin calibration. Move the controller in the directions specified on screen. Once you have moved the controller in each direction, your controller is calibrated to your setup.

    • 7

Press "Circle" on the Move controller to exit the calibration menu. The Move controller now works properly in any Move game, including bowling games such as "High Velocity Bowling."
