How to Downgrade the PS3 With HD2

The Sony PlayStation 3, as a seventh-generation home gaming console, generally connects to televisions through the use of high-definition cables, such as Component or HDMI cables. If you do not have a HD television, then you must downgrade the PS3's visual signal. Fortunately, you only need PS2 or PS3 RCA cables to downgrade the equipment.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the PS2 end of your PS2 RCA cables to the data port on the back of the PlayStation 3 console. The PS3 and PS2 data ports are identical, so the cable will work with both systems.

    • 2

Connect the RCA ends of the PS2 RCA cables to the RCA ports on your television.

    • 3

Turn the television and PS3 on. Change the television to its RCA input channel, and you will see the PS3's downgraded visual signal on the television screen.
