How to Do Catch-a-Ride in Borderlands

The Catch-A-Ride feature in "Borderlands" is the means by which players create vehicles for quick, overland transportation. The terminals are opened by an early series of missions also called "Catch-A-Ride." Unfortunately, the missions are notorious among "Borderlands" players for being buggy and unclear as to how they need to be completed. While the mission carries a beginning level of 7, completion requires defeating an enemy that is too strong at that level, typically requiring a level 10 character to complete. Other solutions exist if the problem persists.

Instructions

    • 1

Defeat Bone Head as instructed in the mission "Bone Head's Theft" that is a mandatory part of the "Catch-A-Ride" mission series. The mission requires level 10 to complete, so use other missions in the area to build up between the initial "Catch-A-Ride" mission and "Bone Head's Theft."

    • 2

Collect the Digistruct Module behind Bone Head as necessary in the "Bone Head's Theft" mission.

    • 3

Activate the Catch-A-Ride terminal while in possession of the Digistruct Module and complete the mission. If this doesn't work initially, continue to Steps 4-6.

    • 4

Walk around the terminal and against the pole, which allows the game to "find" the Catch-A-Ride and interact with the Digistruct Module.

    • 5

Enter a neighboring zone, such as Skag Gully, then re-enter Fyrestone. This again allows the game to find the terminal.

    • 6

Exit the game and restart. Once again, this allows the game to locate the terminal. Once the terminal is located by the game, it can be activated and the mission is complete.
