How to Block Someone On PS3

You have many opportunities for socializing on your PS3 over multiplayer games, PlayStation Eye video chats, messaging and PlayStation Home. You may not get along with all the people you'll meet, though, and if you've received one or more messages from someone you don't want to hear from anymore, you can easily block that person and never receive any messages from her again. Keep in mind that the PS3 will not allow you to add people to your block list if they're currently in your "Friends" list; you'd have to remove them from the friends list first and then block them.

Removing a Friend

  Turn on your PS3 if it's not on already, and navigate to the Friends section of the XrossMediaBar (XMB) menu.

  Locate the user you want to remove from your Friends list.

  Press the green triangle button, and select "Delete."
Blocking Someone

  Turn on your PS3 if it's not on already, and navigate to the Friends section of the XMB menu.

  Select "Message Box," and then select "Received" to display the messages you've received.

  Navigate to a message from the user you want to block, and press the green triangle button.

  Select "Add to Block List."
