Instructions
Shut down as many processes and programs as possible on the PS3 Media Server client PC. Other programs put a strain on the processor, which takes cycles away from PS3 Media Server, which is very processor intensive.
Plug in a network cable from the PS3 to the router. Most PS3 models have a wireless-G network card, which has a limited range and limited bandwidth, which can slow down the PS3 Media Server considerably. A wired connection has an adequate and consistent connection for this purpose.
Change settings on the PS3 Media Center to lower the quality of the stream somewhat. This can be done by lowering the buffer under the video transcoding settings in the "Transcoding" tab.
