The Best Farming Methods in Demon's Souls

"Demon's Souls" is an action-adventure role-playing game released exclusively for PlayStation 3. In the game, you progress through levels and kill numerous demons along the way. Each demon you kill gives you a certain number of souls. Souls are used to level up your character's stats, as well as purchase weapon and armor upgrades. Other items, like grass, are used to replenish your health. "Demon's Souls" is a tough game so the best way to stock up on the items you need is to farm specific areas.

Collecting Souls
- Collecting souls is one of the most important aspects of the game. The best place to farm for souls is Level 4-3, the Old Hero Archstone. To farm at 4-3, your character requires a 10 Magic Skill and 70 Intelligence Skill. Equip the Silver Catalyst and the Silver Coronet for a Magic Point (MP) boost. From the main room, travel to the Old Hero Archstone and backtrack past the room with the slug pits. Kill the reaper at the top of the stairs with your bow. Use the spell "Soul Thirst" on the Black Phantom Black Skeleton around the corner to drain its souls. Walk around the ledge and cast "Soul Thirst" on the Black Phantom Gold Skeletons. Use the Talisman of God to warp out and repeat. If done quickly enough, you'll net hundreds of thousands of souls in just a few minutes.
Grass
- There are six different types of Grass in "Demon's Souls." Grass is a medicinal herb that restores your character's hit points. The grass ranges from a 120-hit point restore to a full health and status recovery. New Moon Grass, which restores your character to full health, is found throughout Level 1. In Level 1-1, the Red Eye Knight drops New Moon Grass. In Level 1-3 and 1-4, the Fat Official and Imperial Spies drop New Moon Grass as well. Dark Moon Grass, which restores all health and status ailments, is dropped by the Depraved Ones throughout Level 5.
Crystal Lizards
- Crystal Lizards are small lizards that glow white when alive. They are shy and run away from your character if spotted. Crystal Lizards drop a number of rare stones and ores for weapon upgrades, so it is beneficial for you to hunt them. If your character is new, hunting Crystal Lizards is the easiest way to obtain weapon upgrades without too much extra farming. Crystal Lizards making a jingling noise when nearby and burrow into walls when threatened. Equip the Thief's Ring or similar stealth item to get close to the lizard and then kill the lizard with a melee attack. Alternatively, fire at the Crystal Lizard with your bow from a distance. In Level 2-2, there is a pit with a dozen lizards inside. Kill the lizards, warp out and repeat.
Spices
- Spices restore your character's magic points. Like Grass, spices range from a small amount of MP restore to a full restore. The easiest way to farm Spices is to fight Mind Flayers and Shamans. Both enemies drop different Spices regularly. Mind Flayers are found in Level 3-1, 3-2 and 3-3. Cast magic from behind or use a ranged weapon to kill Mind Flayers. Shamans are a variety of Depraved Ones and commonly drop Old Spice. They are located in Level 5-1, 5-2 and 5-3. Kill Shamans from a distance using your bow.
