Things You'll Need
Instructions
Open your Web browser and visit a page that contains the Windows Vista drivers for the PlayStation 3 controller (see References). Click the 64-bit link if you are using 64-bit Vista. Click the 32-bit link if you are using 32-bit Vista. The file will download to your hard drive.
Right-click the .ZIP archive file and click "Extract" to unpack the archive. A new folder will appear on screen. Double-click this folder to open it.
Double-click the .EXE file. Click "Next" three times to install the Vista driver on your computer. Reboot your Vista computer before proceeding.
Plug your PS3 controller into your computer via its USB cable. This plugs into the computer the same way it would plug into the console.
Plug a USB Bluetooth dongle into your computer -- only if you plan on using the controller via Bluetooth in Windows Vista.
Click "Start" and "All Programs." Open the "MotioninJoy" folder and select "DS3 Tool."
Click "Driver Manager" in the DS3 Tool program window. Click the "Load Driver" button. The DS3 Tool will load the necessary device driver for the PS3 controller into Windows Vista. You can now play with the controller on your PC using either the USB cable or the wireless Bluetooth functionality.
