Double-click the icon for your PC access card. When you originally installed your card on your computer, an icon should have been created on your desktop. Type in your access number (given to you when you purchased the card) and click "Connect" to connect your computer to the Web.
Click "Start." Type the words (without quotation marks) "Network and Sharing Center" into the "Search" bar on screen. Windows will search your computer for files and folders matching the inputted text. Click the icon for the program of the same name to open it on the screen.
Click the "Set up" link from the "Change your Network Settings" portion of the window on screen. Select "Wireless Ad-hoc" from the bottom of the screen and click "Next." This step will take the Internet connection created by the PC card and broadcast it out into your home via a short-range wireless network.
Move your laptop computer (if applicable) as close as you can to your PlayStation 3. A wireless ad-hoc created by a computer has a much shorter broadcasting range than does a regular wireless router. The closer you can move your laptop to your PS3, the faster the PS3 will be able to connect to the Internet. If you have a desktop computer, skip this step.
Turn on your PlayStation 3. Select "Settings."
Select "Network Settings." Open the icon that represents the Internet connection settings on the PlayStation 3 console. Select the name of the network you created using your PC card and select "Save." Your PlayStation 3 can now use the PC card to get onto the Internet.
