'MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries' Instructions

"MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries" is a game that puts you in control of a giant, combat-ready robot. It was released for the Windows operating system in 2002. The game allows you to control your giant robot, called a "Mech," using your keyboard and mouse. If you want to successfully pilot your Mech throughout the game's many levels and challenges, you have to know which buttons on the keyboard perform what actions.

Instructions

  Use the arrow keys on your computer keyboard to control the direction that your Mech is looking. These keys will not physically move your Mech, but will change the direction of its head. Use the "Up" arrow to look up, the "Down" arrow to look down, the "Left" arrow to look left and the "Right" arrow to look right.

  Pause your game with the "Esc" key. This will allow you to view the "Pause" menu, which allows you to change aspects of the game such as the screen resolution or sound levels.

  Press the "0" keyboard key to zoom in and out on an object using your Mech. This may help you more effectively hit targets that are at a far distance from your on-screen vehicle.

  Use the "W," "S," "A" and "D." The "W" key will speed up your Mech and move it forward, while the "S" key will slow down and eventually stop its acceleration. "A" and "D" turn the Mech left and right, respectively.

  Use your mouse to fire your Mech's weapons at a target. The left mouse button fires the first weapon, while the second button fires the second weapon. If you have three and four weapons, these are fired using the center mouse button. Press "F" to cool down the weapons when they begin to overheat during use.
