How to Get the Facebook App for the PS3

Unlike the PlayStation 2, the PlayStation 3 is a multi-media console that allows users to play video games as well as share photos and videos, browse the Internet and listen to music. With a fully functional web browser, the PlayStation 3 has the ability to support the Facebook Application. The Facebook "App" has the ability to sync trophy information, post status information and update game accomplishments, all from your PS3 console.

  Turn on your PlayStation 3 console and scroll to the "PlayStation Network" icon located near the far-right of the menu. Scroll up and select the "Sign In" icon.

  Sign in using your Sign-In ID, which is your email address, and your password and press the "Sign In" button to access the PSN network.

  Scroll to the far right of the main menu and select the "Settings" icon. Update the software on your PlayStation 3 console by selecting the "System Update" icon. Choose "Update via Internet" on the next page. When the update is complete, the Facebook application is installed on your PlayStation 3 console.

  Confirm that the Facebook application has been installed by scrolling back to the "PlayStation Network" icon and selecting the "Account Management" icon. You should see the "Facebook" icon in the sub-menu after scrolling to the bottom of the page.
