How to Play Heavy Rain: The Taxidermist

Walk around the left side of the house to find a slightly open window. Drag the two nearby oil drums to the window, allowing you to boost yourself up into the taxidermist's house. This brings you into the kitchen.

Investigate the ground floor as desired. None of these are mandatory to complete "The Taxidermist," but you look at the various objects to gain some insight behind Leland, the taxidermist. Be prepared to press a sudden button prompt if you walk by the stuffed animals; failing this will cause them all to fall, giving away your position when Leland returns home.

Walk up the stairs and investigate the rest of the rooms as desired. Avoid opening the closet outside of Leland's bedroom; junk will pour out, also giving away your invasion upon Leland's return. Enter the bedroom and note the location of the phone.

Enter the bathroom on the second floor. A cutscene begins, displaying a woman's body lies inside of a bathtub and several stuffed women strewn across the walls. Shocked, Madison will freeze and stare at the room before hearing Leland's truck pull into the driveway. This segues into the player needing to quickly make their next decision as Leland enters the house.

Hold down the "R2" button only halfway as you creep into the bedroom. Pressing the button the full way will cause the floorboards to creak. Walk up to the phone and quietly call the police for help.

Slide under the bed and wait for Leland to take a nap. By default, Leland will watch TV, get a beer, use the bathroom and then go upstairs. After this, his pattern is random: He will either search for his tools, fiddle with his tools, fiddle with some boxes, continue stuffing the women, talk to the corpses or take a nap in his bedroom before going back downstairs.

Walk down the stairs, still holding the "R2" button only halfway. Sneak through the side door, which leads into the garage. Walk up to the garage shutter control to release the door, allowing you to escape on your motorcycle unscathed.
