Wireless Connection
Navigate to "Settings" on the PlayStation 3 top menu. Scroll down to "Network Settings."
Choose "Internet Connection Settings." Confirm the selection by selecting "Yes."
Select the "Easy" option. Select "Wireless."
Choose the option to "Scan" and wait for the process to finish. On the next screen, once the scan has completed, select your designated wireless access point.
Select the security settings you wish to use. This will vary depending on how your personal wireless connection is set up.
Enter the encryption key for your wireless connection if any is needed. Once the encryption key has been confirmed, save the settings.
Test the internet connection. Your network information will be displayed if the test connection was successful.
Wired Connection
Insert the ethernet cable into the port of the PlayStation 3 console, located at the back of the device.
Scroll to "Settings" on the main menu. Then navigate downward to "Network Settings."
Select "Internet Connection Settings." Confirm the choice by choosing "Yes."
Choose "Easy" as your method of installation. Confirm your network configuration, then alter any additional settings you may need to input, such as PPPoE or IP address. This information will vary depending on your personal connection service.
Save your settings and test the connection. Your network information will be displayed when your connection is successful.
