How to Set Up a Gamertag for Black Ops on PS3

When playing online on your PlayStation 3, you must first set up a PlayStation Network ID. This creates your own personal identity, allowing you to communicate with other players and record the number of trophies you have unlocked. To play Call of Duty: Black Ops, you will need to create the PSN ID. Creating a PSN ID on your PS3 is completely free.

  Turn on your PlayStation 3. Click on the PlayStation Network icon and select "Sign up for PlayStation Network."

  Click on "Create a New Account" and then select "Continue."

  Choose the country you are from, your date of birth and your language. Click on "Continue."

  Select "Master Account" if this is the first account you are creating on your PS3. Select "Sub Account" for all other accounts.

  Enter the email address and password you would like registered to the account. Select "Continue." Enter your desired PSN ID and then select "Continue." Enter your personal details, which include your name, address and gender. Select "Continue" to finalize the details and create the PSN ID. You can now play Call of Duty: Black Ops on your PS3.
