How to Fix the Red, Yellow & White Wires on a PS3

Red, yellow and white wires represent a composite cable connection. This holds true for any sort of video connection, including that of the PS3. Composite cables cannot display high definition media. If you wish to play your PS3 in high definition, you will need component cables or an HDMI connection. If you experience an issue with your PS3 composite cables, you can fix it in a few simple steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Inspect your composite cables. If the cables have any holes or other visible issues, they cannot be repaired. You should simply throw out your cable and purchase a new one. It would be dangerous to try and connect these cables if any visible issues exist.

    • 2

Firmly connect your composite cable̵7;s end into the output of the PS3. This connection must be tight and secure for the cable to work.

    • 3

Connect the red, yellow and white wires into the input of your television. The yellow cable deals with the images while the red and white cables deal with the audio. Make sure to connect the cables to the corresponding color on the television.

Turn on your PS3. Go to ̶0;Settings.̶1; Go to ̶0;Video Settings̶1; and select ̶0;Composite/S Video̶1; as your setting in order to use the composite cables.
