How to Save PS3 Saves Onto Your USB

The Sony PlayStation 3 entertainment console allows gamers to save games and other content to the internal hard drive. PS3 also has two USB ports for connecting storage devices. If you're looking for more memory space or wanting to back up files saved on the hard drive, you can transfer items to a USB flash drive or external hard drive.

Instructions

      Plug a USB flash drive or the USB cord for an external hard drive into one of the ports on the PS3 console.

      Press the power button on the PS3 console or turn on the device by pressing the "Home" button on the center of the PS3 controller.

      Scroll to the "Game" tab, then scroll down to the "Saved Data Utility." All of the game saves currently stored on the PS3 hard drive will be displayed in this menu.

      Choose one of the game saves, and press the "Triangle" button on the PS3 controller. A menu will appear. Scroll to "Copy" and press the "X" button on the PS3 controller.

      Scroll to "USB Device" in the next menu, and press the "X" button on the PS3 controller. The file will begin copying to the USB device.
