How Do I Change My PS3 Account Security Question?

Because of past security issues with PlayStation account hackers, Sony has taken several steps to ensure that all players' credit card data and personal information is secure within their network. One the measures used to enhance security is the password security question. If you have forgotten your password, or would like to change it, the online system will allow you to create a new password if you answer your security question correctly. If you have forgotten both your password and security question, you will need to take the following steps to regain access to your account.

  Attempt all possible security question answers before contacting Sony to let them know you forgot the answer to your security question.

  Call the Sony PlayStation customer service line at 1-800-345-SONY. Explain to your customer service representative that you have forgotten your account security question and that you need to create a new account security question.

  Give the account representative the following information: your user name, your full legal name, your address, your PS3 account ID, and your birth date. Make sure that you give the representative your name and address that was correct at the time you created the PS3 account.

  Create a new security question with the help of the customer service representative. You should think of security question that would be impossible to forget and difficult for anyone else to guess.
