How to Change a Sub-Account

A sub-account on the PlayStation 3 gaming console is any account used on a particular system that is not the main account. For example, if friends came over to your house and wanted to log in to their PlayStation Network accounts from your machine, they would do so using a sub-account. You can change information about the sub-account on a PS3 using the PlayStation Network menu.

  Turn on your PlayStation 3.

  Scroll to the right on the PS3 main menu until the option reading "PlayStation Network" is highlighted. Select this option.

  Select "Account Management."

  Choose the "Sub Account Management" icon. Select the name for the sub-account you want to manage.

  Choose "Parental Controls" if you want to adjust the permissions of the sub-account. You can select what type of games and movies the account can watch based on the rating of the media. If you only want the account to play "T" rated games and below, for example, select this option from the window.

  Select the "Sub Account Password" option if you want to change the password for the account. Users will need to provide this password every time they log in to the sub-account on the PlayStation 3 console.
