How to Hook Up Netgear on a PS3

Playing a PlayStation 3 online requires you to connect your router to a wireless router. If you have not previously set up your PS3 to connect to your Netgear router, you must follow the installation steps on your PlayStation 3. Setting up the network connection between your PS3 and Netgear router allows you to connect to the PlayStation Network. This enables you to connect to other players and online games.

      Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on your modem and the other end to the Ethernet port on your Netgear router.

      Turn on your Netgear router and wait a couple of minutes for it to boot up.

      Turn on your PlayStation 3. Select the "Settings" option on your dashboard.

      Click on "Network Settings" and then "Internet Connection." Select "Yes" and then choose "Easy."

      Select a "Wireless router" as your choice of connection. Click on "Scan" to search for the wireless devices in range.

      Select your Netgear router from the list of results. Select "Automatic" for all of the available options and then select "Yes" to enable UPnP. Your PS3 will now connect to the Netgear router.
