Remove any disc from the console and unplug it from its power source.
Remove the warranty sticker on the back of the device. Remove the rubber foot beneath the sticker, and then remove the screw behind it.
Slide the front cover downward to unlock it and remove it.
Unscrew the six long screws holding the top security screws to the case.
Locate the metal catch near the power button. Press in the catch to remove the casing.
Lift out the Blu-ray DVD player gently. Pull out the wide flat cord near the back of the DVD player and then unclasp the larger flat cord beneath it to unhook the cord.
Unhook all wires at the bottom of the device, including the hard-to-see black and red wire near the green hardware.
Remove the five small black screws from the hardware, then remove the hardware from the DVD player.
Unscrew the two large silver screws near the bottom of the device.
Gently slide the silver metal casing away from the black DVD player.
Remove the white plastic circular spindle, which easily pops off.
Unscrew the five small black screws securing the DVD player.
Turn the device on its side to find the red and black cable. Unplug it, tearing the sticker if necessary.
Unplug the blue ribbon cable, then unscrew the two black screws on each side of the metal springboard to remove the securing mechanism. Repeat this process with the securing mechanism on the opposite side.
Remove the disc reader and carriage. Slide the metal bar out of the holder for easier accessibility.
Adjust the carriage by unscrewing the screw securing it, repositioning it, and screwing the screw back into it to secure it in place.
