How to Play a Blu-ray on a PS3 R3

The Sony PlayStation 3 game console has a large library of game titles and several additional non-gaming features, such as an Internet browser and music playback. It also has a built-in Blu-ray optical drive and supports playback of Blu-ray movies in addition to DVDs and Audio CDs. Playback controls while watching video can be accessed using the PS3 controller or a compatible remote control.

Instructions

  Turn on your PS3 console by pressing the power button on the front panel or by pressing the "PS" button on the PS3 controller. Log into your user account and boot to the PS3 home screen.

  Insert the Blu-ray disc into the PS3 optical drive.

  Select the "Video" icon from the home screen and scroll down to "BDMV" at the bottom of the "Video" menu. Press the "X" button to start the Blu-ray movie. The Blu-ray movie will pre-load and start the main menu.

  Select a playback option from the main menu and press the "X" button to begin video playback.
