How Do I Stream From My Mac to My PS3?

Streaming content from your Mac computer to your PlayStation 3 involves using a media server. Software on your Mac takes an audio or video file and sends it over a wireless network to the PlayStation 3 for playback. The PS3 can then access the files without downloading them to its hard drive. Setting up a streaming media server from a Mac to a PS3 can be accomplished with the right software.

Instructions

Download and install PS3 Media Server onto your Mac. PS3 Media Server is a freeware application designed for Windows, Mac and Linux computers. Download the .DMG installation file from the PS3 Media Server website and install the program onto your computer. Select the "Add File" option from the main program window and add the audio and video files that you want to stream to your PlayStation 3.

Select the "General" tab and the "Share" options (example: "Share Movies" or "Share Music") to stream the files to your PlayStation 3.
