Instructions
Turn on your laptop and PlayStation 3. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port in your laptop. Connect the other end to the Ethernet port of your PlayStation 3 unit.
Connect your USB modem to a USB port in your laptop. Connect to the Internet using the USB modem following the device's instruction manual.
Click "Start" (the Windows-logo button on the lower-left-hand side of the screen). Click "Control Panel"-->"Network and Internet"-->"View network and status and tasks"-->"Change adapter settings." A new screen appears showing all your network connections.
Hold the "Ctrl" key down, then, at the same time, left-click on "Local Area Connection" and "Mobile Broadband Connection" to select them both. Right-click on either connection, then select "Bridge Connections." A new icon called "Network Bridge" now appears.
Go to your PS3 menu screen and scroll down to "Settings." Then select "Network Settings"--> "Internet Connection Settings"-->"Easy"-->"Wired Connection." Wait for the PS3 to check your configuration settings automatically. Test your Internet connection. If the word "Succeeded" shows up, the connection is successful. You can now log into your PlayStation Network account and play your favorite games or browse the Internet.
