How to Change PS3 Visualizations

Sony's PlayStation 3 (PS3) possesses a wide variety of multimedia features, including a Blu-ray disc player, online gaming services, compatibility with the PlayStation Portable and MP3 playback. The PS3 has a number of visualizations you can use to display graphics on your television set while playing music from the system. They are quickly accessible and offer a much preferable alternative to a blank screen.

Instructions

    • 1

Power on your PlayStation 3 and press the "PS" button in the middle of your controller. This brings up the menu.

    • 2

Slide the media bar over to the "Music" icon. Scroll down to "Playlists" and press "X." Choose a playlist and push "X" again. Select a track and play it by hitting "X" once more.

    • 3

Press the "Square" button after the first visualization appears to deactivate it. Cycle through different visualizations by pushing "Square" repeatedly. Leave the one you wish to keep on the screen.
