How to Hook Up a PS3 Paddle to My Computer

Playing games on your computer is usually carried out using a keyboard and a mouse. However, you can also use a controller to play the games. If you have a PlayStation 3, you can use the PS3 controller on your computer, rather than buying a controller specifically for your computer. The controller can be connected using the USB cable you received with your PS3 controller.

  Open up your Internet browser and visit a search engine. Type in "DualShock3 Controller Driver." Download the driver from one of the many sites offering a free download.

  Open up the file to install the driver on your computer.

  Plug the USB connection of the PS3 controller cable into the USB slot on your computer. You will find the USB slot on the side of your laptop or on the rear of your computer tower unit.

  Plug the other end of the cable into the slot on the top of your PS3 controller.

  Click on the "Start" button and select "Control Panel." Click on "Game Controllers." Select "PlayStation 3 Controller" and press the "Home" button on the center of your controller. This will now register the controller to your computer.
