How to Hookup a PS3 to Zenith TV

Knowing how to connect your PlayStation 3 to your Zenith TV allows you to play PS3 games and watch movies from your console on your television. The PS3 can be connected to a Zenith TV through an HDMI cable or through the included AV cable. The HDMI cable delivers superior video and sound, but since HDMI is newer technology, it may not be an option for connecting older Zenith TVs. Both of these connection methods do not require any tools and only takes a couple minutes to complete.

  Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the TV and connect the other end of the cable to the PS3. This connection results in the highest quality picture and sound. If your TV does not have an HDMI connection, connect the AV cable that came with your PlayStation 3. Plug the red, white and yellow RCA cables into the RCA ports of the same color on the TV, then plug the other end of the AV cable into the PS3.

  Plug the power adapter of the PS3 into an electrical outlet. Press the "Power" button on the PS3, and then press the "Eject" button to open the tray. Put a game in the disc tray and press "Eject" to close the tray.

  Turn the TV on and press the "HDMI" button if you used an HDMI cable to connect the PS3. If you used an RCA cable, press the "Video" button. The TV changes to the appropriate input and displays the game.
