How to Connect a PlayStation 3 Game Station to a TV Without AV Capability

If your television set doesn't have audio and video inputs, you still have a very specific option when it comes to connecting devices like the Sony PlayStation 3 game console. Your television set still has a coaxial antenna input. It is through this input as well as an associated coaxial-to-composite adapter box that you can get your PlayStation 3 working on your older television set in no time.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug your coax-to-RCA adapter into the coaxial antenna input on your older television set. The coaxial cable on the adapter screws on the exact same way the coaxial cable connected to a TV antenna would.

    • 2

Connect your PlayStation 3's composite RCA video and audio cables to the coax-to-RCA adapter. Plug the cables into the adapter the same way you would plug them into the back of a TV.

    • 3

Connect your PlayStation 3's composite RCA video and audio cables to the back of the console. The other side of the cables uses a proprietary input that will only work with the PlayStation 3 console. Use the input with the word "MULTI" written above it.
