How to Delete Prediction Text on PS3

Using the PlayStation 3's on-screen keyboard to hunt and peck characters with a thumb stick is a tiresome process, which is why Sony included a predictive text feature. When you type into forms, fields or other items on your PlayStation 3, the console stores that data. When you begin an entry similar to a past one, your PlayStation 3 automatically recalls the stored text, displaying it as an option to help you fill the field faster. The console does not, however, discriminate the types of text it saves, so you might have some unwanted predictive text stored. If so, clear the feature's history.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your PS3. The cross-menu bar loads. If not, push the controller's PlayStation button, located in the center, to load the cross-menu bar.

    • 2

Use the left thumb-stick to highlight "Settings" from the cross-menu bar and press the "X" button to open the menu. Use this method to open items on the PlayStation 3's menu. A vertical menu appears.

    • 3

Open "System Settings" from the "Settings" menu. More options appear.

    • 4

Choose the "Delete Predictive Text Dictionary" option. A prompt opens asking you to confirm the predictive text dictionary's clearance.

    • 5

      Select "Yes" to confirm.
