How to Package a PS3 Controller

After selling a PlayStation 3, or "PS3," controller online or to a friend or relative that is out of your local area, you must send the controller to that person via mail or shipping service. Problems arise after the sale if the PS3 controller is damaged in any way during the shipping process. Securing the PS3 controller tightly inside a box and sufficiently protecting the controller prevents damage to its wiring, buttons or joysticks.

Instructions

    • 1

Coil the cord of the PS3 controller so that it's wrapped tightly into a ball. Secure the controller's cord with a twist tie, rubber band or similar object.

    • 2

Place a cloth, bubble wrap or similar protection on the bottom of a medium-sized box. Avoiding using too large a box.

    • 3

Wrap the PS3 controller in a cloth or bubble wrap. Don't worry about covering the cord while wrapping the controller.

    • 4

Put the PS3 controller in the center of the box. Tuck the cord behind or next to the controller.

    • 5

Stuff cloths or other similar protective items into the box, surrounding the controller with the items.

    • 6

Seal the box's opening. The USPS website recommends using clear or brown 2-inch-wide packaging tape. Tape the box securely.

    • 7

Address the box as normal. Write "Fragile" in permanent marker on at least two different portions of the box.
