How to Delete Files Through a PS3 Media Server

Remove files from your console's hard drive when you wan to delete files that you're streaming from your PlayStation 3 to a wireless media server. PlayStation 3 media servers support the streaming of audio, video and pictures. So be as thorough as possible and remove files from all three corresponding areas on your console.

  Navigate to the directory on your PlayStation 3 where the file you want to delete is stored. If the file is a video, for example, open the "Video" folder and highlight the video file's name. Press "X" to begin to play the file.

  Press "Triangle" to bring up the PlayStation 3 Control Panel. This window can be displayed while playing an audio or video file, or while viewing an image on your console.

  Highlight the "Delete" option. Press "X" to delete the file from your hard drive, which will remove it from the PlayStation 3 media server.
