Things You'll Need
Instructions
Connect your USB storage device, such as an external drive or digital camera, to your computer with a USB cable. Go to "Start," "My Computer," then click on the drive device under "Devices with Removable Storage." A folder window will now open, showing the contents that are currently in the device.
Navigate to the files you want to transfer to the PS3, then click and drag them onto the removable storage device's folder screen. Repeat for each file you want to copy to the PS3.
Right-click on the device from the "My Computer" screen, then select "Safely Remove." Do not unplug the device until you receive the notification that the device is safe to be removed from your computer.
Connect the USB storage device to one of the PS3's USB ports with the USB cable.
Choose the USB device from either the "Music," "Video," or "Photo" categories on the XMB menu screen, then press the triangle button on the PS3 controller.
Select "Display All," then press the "X" button. A list of all files that fall into each category, such as "Photos" or "Music," will now be shown on the screen.
Highlight the desired file, then press the triangle button again to store it to the PS3's internal drive. Repeat for every file from each category that you want to transfer to the PS3's storage.
