How to Reset a Parental Code on Your PS2 If You Have Forgotten the Password

The PlayStation 2 is a video gaming console capable of playing DVD movies. The system comes with parental controls that can limit the type of rated material that can be played on the system. If the original password is forgotten, mature rated movies will not play and the password will need to be reset.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert a R-rated DVD, which requires the parental control password, into the PlayStation 2.

    • 2

Press "Yes" when the first prompt of the parental control appears. Press "Yes" again at the second parental control prompt.

    • 3

Press the "Select" button on the controller when the screen prompts for a password. It will ask for another password to delete the current one.

    • 4

Input the password "7444" into the box. The deletion is complete.

    • 5

Type in a new four digit code on the next prompt to register it. Retype the password again to confirm the new code.
