How to Do Symbols on the PlayStation 3

The PlayStation 3 uses an on-screen keyboard that can enter both numbers and symbols. The keyboard screen displays automatically whenever the player needs to enter text. The user can toggle back and forth between the standard keys that display letters and numbers and special symbols keys. Users can also plug a standard USB keyboard into one of the USB ports on the front of the PS3.

     Open a screen where you need to enter text. They PlayStation 3 keyboard will appear on the screen.

     Highlight the symbols key on the bottom left. The symbol key is labeled "*#%" and is colored gold.

     Press the "X" button on the controller to select the key. The keyboard will switch to symbols.

     Highlight the symbol you want to enter and press the "X" button on the controller.
