How to Use a PS3 as an Internet Browser

The PlayStation 3 has a built-in Ethernet port and Wi-Fi adapter. It utilizes the Internet for features such as the PlayStation Network and Netflix. However, it is also used as an Internet browser with the built-in browser application. Since the PS3 has a USB hub, you can connect a USB keyboard and mouse to the device for convenient navigation. Additionally, you can install plug-ins such as Flash on-the-fly to view sites, such as YouTube, which require the Adobe Flash plugin.

Instructions

      Turn on the PS3.

      Navigate to the "Network" tab in the main menu.

      Scroll down to "www" which is the PS3 Internet browser.

      Press "X" on the controller to open the browser.

      Press the "Start" button to bring up an address bar which allows you to enter URLs.

      Enter the URL with the on-screen keyboard. Or, connect a USB keyboard to enter the URL through the keyboard.

      Press "Start" again to navigate to the web page.

      Press the triangle button to pull up the menu. The options are "Search," "File," "Back," "Forward," "Refresh," "Home," "Bookmarks," "History" and "Exit."
