How to Reset the PS3 Video Chip

When you adjust the settings on your Sony PlayStation 3 video game console you are adjusting the way that specific hardware components work. For example, adjusting certain video settings manually changes certain functions of the internal video chip. You can reset any changes that you've made at any time by reverting the entire PlayStation 3 console back to its original factory settings.

     Turn on your PlayStation 3.

     Open the "Settings" XMB menu icon.

     Open "System Settings" and select "Restore Default Settings."

     Press "X" on the controller to reset your console's settings, including adjustments that were made to the operation of the PS3 video chip.
