How to Make a PS3 Use Regular TV Plug Ins

The PlayStation 3 comes standard with composite video cables. These are the yellow, red and white connections common to all television sets. You can also use the PS3 with optional component cables or a high definition multimedia interface cable. When you switch to a different type of cable, the standard cables no longer work. You can't get into the menu system to change the video settings, but you can reset the video without accessing the menus.

     Turn off your PS3 console.

     Press the "Power" button and hold it down. After several seconds, the PS3 will emit a series of beeps.

     Release the "Power" button after the second beep. The process takes approximately six seconds.
