How to Hook My PS3 Account to Facebook

Although many people regard the PlayStation 3 as a gaming console, Sony, the device's developer, refers to its machine as a computer entertainment system. To back up that claim, Sony has gradually added more and more features to the system through automatic online updates, including Netflix streaming and the ability to link your Facebook profile with your PlayStation Network account. Your PlayStation 3 allows you to share three types of data with your Facebook friends after connecting your two accounts: trophies, in-game events and online transactions.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your PS3 and log in to your PlayStation Network account.

    • 2

Press the PlayStation button on your controller to open the cross-menu bar if necessary.

    • 3

Go to the "PlayStation Network" section on the cross-menu bar.

    • 4

Select "Account Management," listed below "PlayStation Network." An "Account Management" menu appears to the right.

    • 5

Select "Facebook" from the "Account Management" menu. Three Facebook sharing options appear: trophy information, purchases and game events (see Tips).

    • 6

Select an item you wish to connect to your PlayStation network account. A dialog box appears.

    • 7

Change the drop-down field to "On." This data links to your Facebook account. Select "Accept." A Facebook log-in screen appears.

    • 8

Enter your Facebook user name and password into the corresponding fields and then select "OK." You only need to enter your user name and password one time when setting up your account sharing information.

    • 9

Share more PlayStation Network data with your Facebook account by repeating Steps 6 and 7.
