How to Create a Network From a MacBook Pro to a PS3

The PlayStation 3 is able to stream networked media from a DLNA media server. The DLNA media server function is built into Windows, however it is not built into OS X. Fortunately, the freeware application PS3 Media Server adds this functionality. The application also allows for features such as on-the-fly transcoding. This is very useful for playing media types that are not natively supported by the PS3.
