The PlayStation 3 can access the Internet for a variety of functions. It is able to stream NetFlix movies and connect to the PlayStation network. There is also YouTube functionality as well as a browser application. It is able to connect to the Internet through a hard-wired Ethernet cable or a wireless access point. If using a wireless access point, the encryption keys need to be entered into the system settings for a successful connection.

      Power on the PS3.

      Navigate to "Settings" in the menu screen.

      Scroll down to "Network Settings."

      Press "X" on "Internet Connection Settings."

      Choose "Wireless."

      Select the correct access point.

      Select either "WEP" or "WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK" depending on the type of wireless security.
