How to Install Power PS3 Controllers

Power Sony PlayStation 3 controllers require external power while playing. Wireless controllers can be synced and used with the PS3 without any wires, but power controllers must be powered by the PS3 with a USB cable while playing. The benefits of having this type of controller is that you do not need to charge the controller and purchase new batteries for it.

Instructions

      Press the "Power" button on the top of the Sony PS3 to turn it on.

      Insert the USB cable connected to the Sony PS3 controller into one of the Sony PS3's USB ports.

      Press the "PS" button in the center of the Sony PS3 controller to turn it on. This syncs the power PS3 controller to the PS3.

      Keep the PS3 controller plugged into the Sony PS3 while playing, as the controller needs to be connected to retain power.
