Instructions for Wireless Keypads for the PS3

While using the PlayStation 3, you are often prompted to enter information, such as creating a PSN account or using the web browser. Using the on-screen keyboard to do this can be slow, which is not ideal for frequent chatters. The official PS3 wireless keypad is a full QWERTY keypad that attaches to the PS3 controller. It features the same options as the on-screen keyboard but is more comfortable and easier to use.

  Turn on the PS3. Slide the power switch to the "On" position on the keypad.

  Connect the keypad to the PS3 using the supplied USB cable. The light on the keypad will flash for a few seconds. When it stabilizes, it has synced to the PS3 and can be detached from the USB cable.

  Connect the wireless keypad to a PS3 controller by opening the clamp on the bottom of the keypad, positioning the keypad on the middle of the PS3 controller and pressing down firmly. You now can use the keypad instead of the on-screen keyboard to type while using the PS3 menus and games. The keypad includes most of the commonly used keys, including Shift and most symbols.
