How to Hook Up a PS3 With Ethernet

The Sony PlayStation 3 supports both wireless and wired Internet connections. By connecting your console to your high-speed modem, you can enjoy fast downloads, smooth multiplayer gameplay, streaming media and even browser capabilities. Connecting your PlayStation 3 directly to your modem through an Ethernet cable secures the strongest Internet connection possible. The direct link eliminates dropped connections caused by unstable wireless signals. If you do not own a Wi-Fi modem, or wish to establish the most secure connection possible, connect your console directly to your high-speed modem.
