How to Download a Bluetooth on the PS3

Whenever you log on to play a multiplayer game, you will want to chat with teammates to discuss strategy or to socialize. In order to do so, you need a headset compatible with the system, and fortunately for the PS3, several headset options are available. Since the PS3 uses Bluetooth technology, users can pair (download) any Bluetooth-enabled headset onto the device from the settings menu. This provides an advantage over other system consoles such as the Xbox 360, which limits the type of headsets players can use.

Instructions

    • 1

Scroll left on the PS3 menu. Select the "Settings" option via the toolbox icon.

    • 2

Scroll down from the drop-down menu and select "Accessory Settings."

    • 3

Select "Register Bluetooth Device." From the option menu, select "Register Headset/Microphone/Headphones." Place your headset into pairing mode to search for the PS3 Bluetooth signal. Once your Bluetooth is in pairing mode, select "Start Scanning."

    • 4

Enter the pairing code when prompted. If you do not have a code, the default code is "0000." Scroll back to the main settings menu. Select "Audio Device Settings." Change both the "Input" and "Output" device names to the name of your headset.
