How to Connect a Printer to a PS3

The PlayStation 3 (PS3) contains two USB ports and is compatible with USB-based printers. Once a printer is connected you'll be able to print screen shots, scores and pictures from your system. You need to configure your printer before it will become operational on the PlayStation 3 console.

      Access the PlayStation 3 XMB menu by clicking the PS button on your controller.

      Select "Settings" and then press "X" on the controller. Select "System Settings" then "System Information."

      Select "System Update" to update your PS3 firmware and drivers to the latest version.

      Locate the USB port on your printer. You will find the port at the back of most printers while others have the port in the front. Connect one end of the USB cable to the USB port on the printer.

      Connect the opposite end of the USB cable to the USB port on the PlayStation 3.

      Return to the "Settings" menu on PS3 and select "Printer Selection." Select "Printer Settings" and then select your printer from the list of supported printers.
