How to Connect a Playstation 3 to an Arris Modem

If you are having trouble connecting your Arris modem to your PlayStation 3, then most likely you had the modem hooked up to a computer or router before hooking it up to the PlayStation 3. Normally, this would not be an issue. However, the Arris modem keeps the MAC address of the first piece of hardware to which it is hooked up. The basic hookup is the same as with any router.

• Ethernet cable
• PlayStation 3
• Arris modem

     Press the reset button on the back of the Arris modem. You should press the button while the modem is plugged in.

     Plug one end of the Ethernet cord into the Arris modem.

   • 3

     Turn off your PlayStation 3.

   • 4

     Plug the opposite end of the Ethernet cord into the back of the PlayStation 3.

   • 5

     Turn on your PlayStation 3. The Internet connection should now be established.
