How to Kill Cronos in God of War III

In the game "God of War III," Cronos is the youngest of the first generation of Titans, and one of the antagonists the player must defeat. Cronos is one of the most challenging boss fights in "God of War 3," and is probably the longest the player will have faced up to that point in the game. It requires the player to battle both the massive Titan and waves of minions that will spawn throughout the battle.

Instructions

  Press "Circle" continuously to avoid Cronos's fist. The gold dust around his eyes reveals that you can temporarily blind him with your Head of Helios power. Activate it by holding down "L2" and pressing "Triangle." This will trigger a short scene in which you fly through the air; you will need to press a context button to land successfully, so pay attention.

  Fight through the minions that spawn, and climb onto Cronos's hand until you see the glowing red wound. Hit it to trigger another wave of minions. Cronos will now try to attack you with his other hand; use this opportunity to attack his middle fingernail.

  Move your analog stick half-circle to avoid Cronos when he once again tries to smash you with his hand. Once you are back on his hand, another wave of minions will spawn. Fight them while making your way to his fingernail again. Attack it until a circle appears, allowing you to detach the fingernail.

  Avoid Cronos's hand when he tries to crush you with it, as before, then jump onto it. Use your Solar Flare to blind Cronos as you did in the first sequence.

  Press another context button to grapple on Cronos's stomach when you fall. Fight off the new wave of minions and follow the flesh-colored parts of his skin along his body to find new grappling points you can use to swing from.

  Dispatch the hammer guards and open the doors in front of you. Slice at the open wound and you will see the Onyx. Fight off more minions before Cronos grabs you. He will eventually open his hand up and bring his other fist down to crush you. Tap "Circle" to avoid this.

  Continue fighting after you're upside-down, continuing until Cronos throws you off. Use the five grappling points to run. Don't stop to fight your enemies, or you will die; continue running and using grappling points until you reach the platform with more minions and a cyclops.

  Perform more context-sensitive actions when you slide off the platform. Cronos will then grab you and swallow you. Slide down his throat with "R1" to trigger a sequence in which you will need to tap "Circle" to cut your way out.

  Climb onto the fingernail again to reach another platform. Hit the Onyx to release it, then press "Square" when you are flung backward. Go towards Cronos's face and press "Circle," then hold "L2" and "R2" to kill him.
