How to a Clean 60Gb PS3

The PlayStation 3, or PS3, is a video game console manufactured by electronic giant Sony. When the console was first released in 2006, it was available with a 60GB built-in hard drive. This model, known as a "Fat PS3", was replaced in 2009 with a slimmer version of the console. Regardless of which console you have, there are several maintenance procedures that you must follow to keep the console clean and free of dust.

  Turn off the console and unplug the power cord from the power outlet.

  Wipe the exterior of the console with a clean, soft cloth to remove any dirt, dust or scratches that may have accumulated. Do not use any cleaning products, as these can potentially damage the console. You can also use the cloth to wipe the Sixaxis or DualShock 3 controller clean.

  Use the hose attachment of your vacuum cleaner to clear the vents of any dust that has accumulated. Keeping these vents clean will ensure that the PS3 has clear airflow so it will not overheat.
